How You Can Die While Gaming

Many of us play games from time to time but not for that long. There is an exception for a few other people, they like to play almost the entire day, they are considered to be hardcore gamer. There is a downside to playing games for a long time, that downside is death.

While playing for an hour or two isn't bad for your health, you can't play for that long without a break. Some breaks in-between your gaming session is ideal to keep up your overall health. Your going to need to take a 5 minute break from not looking at the TV with some stretching and walking around. Not only will taking breaks helps you concentrate once you get back into the game it also helps some the irritation you get from looking at the screen for too long. If you don't take breaks then your in for a treat, you are at risk of getting a stroke or a heart attack.

You may be wondering how is it possible to get a heart attack while gaming. The reason is due to the way our bodies are made. If you sit down for a prolonged  long time, blood clots start to form on the lower half of your legs. The blood pressure isn't as strong as it would be as if you were standing up. Think of it as a water hose, bending the hose greatly decrease the water pressure, this is essentially what is happening in our blood when you sit down.

Once enough blood clots have formed on your legs, when you decide to finally stand up to move the clot will be released back into your bloodstream. When this clot gets stuck in one of your smaller arteries or heads to your heart, you can easily die. If the clot gets stuck in your smaller arteries it will stop the blood flow, if you don't go the the hospital and get that clot removed you will surely die. If the clot heads into your heart then you are surely to get a heart attack or a stroke.

The best remedies to prevent blood clots forming is to always move around and take breaks every once in a while like I stated earlier. Having a healthy diet also greatly reduces the chances of clots forming while improving your overall health. Try to move your feet while sitting to keep the circulation going by flexing or rotating your feet.

Hope you are now aware of this if you haven't before. Here's an example of how someone died from sitting too long because of gaming. (sorry can't embed the video)

Unlimited Detail Is Back With Graphics Tech That Blows Away Polygons Out Of The Water

Last year we saw a new company show up from no where showing the possibilities of video game graphics of the future. By getting rid of the polygons and using actual atoms to make up the graphics.

Well after 1 year of a no show, they have come back with a new identity Euclideon. I'm not sure if what they say/show is true or not, but this is just amazing how much they have progressed. I cant wait to see how much further this technology develops if its real.

New Indie Sony Title: Sideway

Apart from the awesome AAA games we get to play, and a lot of those cookie cutter games. We will always have indie games, taking those risks and chances with something fresh and different.

Now we have Sideway, a new indie title with cooperation with Sony. Its simple yet unique I'll let the video do the talking for me so you can see what I mean.

Awesome New BF3 Alpha Footage

News has been a bit slow, but these new BF3 videos that have surfaced are amazing, enjoy.

PS the fly-by missile sound at 0:43 is amazing.

So far I can tell DICE went all out with the recording of real world guns and missiles and the feel of combat. I personally can not wait for this game.

Also if the video's have been taken down I am sorry, these videos shouldn't even be up :) so enjoy them while they are.

New HDD Arrived And Installed

Finally after waiting for so long for this bad boy to ship to me, it has finally arrived. For those that dont remember why I haven't been active on my blog is that my old hard drive failed and so I had to get a new one.

Well after over a week of waiting, my new Western Digital Caviar Green 2TB HDD is here, wooo try saying that 5 times. I upgraded from a 320GB to this monster of a 2TB, for only $80 such a great price. Also it feels great that i had to do a fresh install of windows, my computer seems to be much faster. Alas though I did lose a lot of data when my other drive failed on me.

My blog will continue starting this Monday, as I will be busy on the weekend, and for the non believers (I dont know why there would even be any) heres a screen cap of my HDD.

1.81TB...close enough

Blog Will Continue Once My 2TB HDD Arrives

I'm posting from my android phone right now, its a lot harder typing since you can easily make a mistake while typing. Thats not even including the hassle with the zooming in and out and the occasional lag input. At least the auto correct comes in handy :-)

I bought a 2TB Western Digital Caviar hard drive for 79.99 on Amazon, seems like the best bang for the buck so why not. Once I save up enough money I will buy two more HDD's so I can have a RAID 0 + 1 drive. I never have done a raid set up but I will research on how to do it.

My HDD should be here by Monday or Tuesday till then, be safe guys.

Wont Be Posting For A While Hard Drive Failure

Im posting this from my friends house. While playing DNF my computer shut off, and apparently my HDD (hard drive) died. Im going to have to buy a replacement. So all my info everything is gone :/

I wont be making the Duke review but I will post someone else's review, I just feel that all that time I put into the game is now lost.

On  a side note hope everyone had a great 4th of July.

US Supreme Court Overturns Ban On Violent Video Games In California

The supreme court has made it against the law to sell M rated games to minors, this is old news by now. What isn't old news is that the supreme court has passed a bill nullifying that law, minors in the California state can now buy M rated games. The reasons this bill passed is due to our 1st amendment rights, freedom of speech.

Hopefully more state legislators pass this bill so that minors can buy M rated games. Only reason I am for this movement is because I myself used to play M rated games when I was a child, I turned out to be fine. I was more mature for my age, I understood the difference between fantasy and reality. parents should also monitor what their child is doing, so that they themselves could grow to be better parents rather then, labels and rating babysit their children.

Here is the more simple 3D Taiwanese  version of all  this hoopla.

A Glimpse Of The PS Vita Facial Recognition Tech

The technology running behind the PS Vita is very impressive, we have already seen marker-less AR (augmented reality) which the 3DS and PSP need in order to achieve. Not only can the Vita do AR without markers but it can also do facial recognition. How far this tech will go, only time will tell.

From a recent article from Famitsu Sony has said they have developed the technology to use facial recognition on the Vita, for example you can chat with someone and instead of them seeing your face, you can chat with your avatar and your avatar will mimic everything you do. Such as blinking mouth moving head movement ect.

Here is an excerpt from Famitsu: (translation by google translate sorry if its a bit hard to read)

Now recognize that technology is focused SCE. "In recognition technology to create new and surprising experience to the game is still an area of filtration伸Bishi" and Mr. Yoshikatsu Kanemaru. The concrete is illustrated in "facial recognition" and "markerless AR" it. About face recognition, there may have been a long time, and technically that is mature and is now also possible to recognize faces 10 years in increments. That emotion can be identified with considerable accuracy. As a measure to strengthen the face detection, and it has been able to detect stable in the face if they call the 3D glasses. In addition, PlayStation 3, in addition to the PSP, and that they are planning to offer versions of PS Vita.  PS Vita respect, by enabling real-time recognition of a person entered the rear camera and front camera, so facial recognition and high affinity. Eyes and nose, and it can also be detected in units such as the mouth parts. At the venue, as an example of face recognition in PS Vita, was presented a technical demo to do a video chat with each other avatars. Here is recognized by the camera reflected in the avatar of the player's face PS Vita, Unadzui or those that are detected in real time or shake his head. Incidentally, for the opening and closing the mouth, face recognition is currently取Ri切Renai complete, he said that support the movement of the mouth to detect the sound while a voice out. Demonstration of technical terms here, there is no plan for commercialization. However, "For facial recognition, I want to append some of the entertaining" (Kanemaru) they have said.

Source: Famitsu

This tech demo was just that, a tech demo. But they will not rule out the tech behind it. We may not get this avatar to avatar chat feature, but Sony will implement this tech into their games. Hope to see how much further this tech goes, and that the avatar to avatar stays in the final product or maybe an update. We have seen tech demos become full blown games, hopefully this becomes part of the Vita.

What are your thoughts on facial recognition?

PSM3 Scans Of Battlefield 3: Multiplayer Class System Revealed And Much More

Update: Scans are no longer available, had to be taken down due to copy right infringement.

Scans of PSM3 have just come in and BF3 looks better then ever. In these scans we learn a bit more of the multiplayer class system, also that DICE's biggest competition isnt MW3 but rather a bigger threat.

BF3 is shaping up to be a great modern shooter, with months still to go for the dev's wonder what else they can announce in the coming months to surprise us.

What are your impression of BF3 thus far.

Game Dev Story

I recently bought Game Dev Story for my android phone. This game is really awesome, it depicts what the developer/publisher do when making a game and how they are supported. You control every aspect of the business, from hiring people making games and training them. Its a fun little RPG game.

I would highly recommend this game if you have an android phone, not sure if its supported by android tablets.

You can read more about this game from my fellow blogger friend androidapps.

Amazon Is Holding A Clearance Sale For Over 700+ Games

Yet again Amazon blows me away with all these deals they come up with. This time around they are holding a clearance for PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, PC/Mac PSP and DS games. Even older systems such as the Gamecube, XBOX, PS2 and GBA.

These are rather old titles not really any new titles. But theres so much to choose from and so cheap too, so it would be great if you find a game you might have missed on getting. This clearance will most likely last while they still have supply left since they are obviously trying to get rid of it, hence the clearance.

Here all the links for the clearance, happy shopping gamers, and happy fathers day.

Duke Nukem Forever Impressions So Far

My review of DNF (Duke Nukem Forever) will be coming up by the end of the week once I beat the game. But for now I'll just give you a little insight on how I feel about the game and how journalists are reviewing this game.

Im about half way or a little over half way done with DNF. Once I'm done I shall give you my thoughts on the game, and I wont just put a random 1-10 score, no, the score is for fun factor (I'll explain it better once my review comes out). So like I was saying so far the game can be a bit hard from time to time and its a decent game in and of itself. DNF has a good amount of funny moments and I really enjoy those parts of the game, what I really don't like is how the game feels. I'll explain myself better on the pro's and con's of the game later in my future review of DNF.

As for the journalists out there who have been rating this game from low scores to 10/10, all I have to say is SCREW YOU. Reviewers this generation haven't done justice to games or to the gamers. Only thing the journalists have been doing is just giving out pure hate or pure praise towards this game. This isn't the first time I have noticed this. Since the XBOX 360 has launched I noticed this oh so well. Reviewers are meant to give AAA (big franchises) great scores no matter how bad/good the game is. Or the publisher bribes them with money or free gifts. Thus swaying them from the actual game score itself. Not only that, they also like to talk smack about a game just so they can get hits (people visit their site) thus giving them more revenue to their site. I just feel that DNF finally shined the light and gamers are starting to really see how the gaming media truly is, and how it functions.

I'll make a full fledged article on my views on the journalists, I noticed I talked more about that given topic rather then DNF, but for you guys, the readers. Are you planning on picking up DNF? For those that already have DNF how do you like the game so far?

LulzSec's Hacking Activity Explained Very Well By 3D Animation

Just like my previous post, I am rather busy at the moment so I dont have the time to write a long well written article. I wont have time to post tomorrow either. Sunday I will be able to, so till then take care.

Now watch this little clip of Taiwanese news casters explain what LulzSec has been up to, in a rather well informed visual matter.

Runner Up: Skyrim

This post will be nice and short and straight to the point. Im busy so I cant write a well fleshed out post as I would like to.

I have never played any of the Elder Scrolls games before. But I recently I given Oblivion a shot, and I really liked the game, its a lot of fun. Its sort of like GTA, but set in the mythological medieval times, and you can do what ever you want how ever you want. While Skyrim improves upon everything from Oblivion, thus making me really exited for this game.

Seeing more gameplay from E3 of Elder Scrolls: Skyrim I am really hyped for this game and cant wait to get it for the PC later this year. Skyrim comes out Nov. 11 2011.

Here's a video from G4 showing the games in's and out's, hope you enjoy.

My Most Anticipated Game Of The Year

Just like the previous game before it, that has won over 40 GOTY awards, Uncharted 3 is my most anticipated game of this year. I have beaten Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and both have such an amazing story line, it rivals that of a movie. Heck it is a movie in of itself, its more of a Indiana Jones type interactive film. It has adventure, looting, pirates, love triangles, typical bad guy and a few surprises along the way, that is what makes this game so similar to Indiana Jones, and such an amazing game.

Not only am I looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds on Nathon Drake (main protagonist). But also cant wait to see what ND (Naughty Dog) has done to the multiplayer since UC2. When ND first announced that UC2 will have a muiltiplayer portion of the game, I was appalled. I started to think ND has gone the route of putting MP as their primary focus and SP their secondary, thus giving me a bad SP experience. Luckily I was wrong, both SP and MP were ND's  primary focus and it showed, the story was amazing and the MP was up there with Halo and CoD. Speaking about Halo and CoD, Bungie and Infinity Ward helped out ND establish and build the MP portion of the game. That's why it was so fun, active and well structured. But alas gamers didnt really show much love to the MP in UC2 seeing as there was only ever 14k people online giving on any time of the day. Hopefully things will change with UC3. But seeing how Sony has been pushing this game in marketing, I think things will change for the better and more gamer's will be able to experience this wonder game.

Hope you guys are looking forward to this game as much as I am, the wait till release date is gunna be long and painful one. Uncharted 3 comes out Nov. 1st 2011, only on the PS3.

LulzSec Strikes Again Hacks Bethesda's Site

LulzSec has striked again by trying to hack into Bethesda's site, trying to steal user's emails, passwords and addresses. But luckily Bethesda caught it right away so he wasn't able to get the information.

This is what they had to say:

"Over the past weekend, a hacker group attempted an unlawful intrusion of our websites to gain access to data. We believe we have taken appropriate action to protect our data against these attacks. While no personal financial information or credit card data was obtained, the hackers may have gained access to some user names, email addresses, and/or passwords. As a precaution, we recommend that all our fans immediately change passwords on all our sites — including our community forums and the statistics site we maintain for Brink players.
If your username/email address/password is similar to what you use on other sites, we recommend changing the password at those sites as well. As we don’t know what further plans the hackers may have, we suggest that you keep an eye out for suspicious emails and account activity.
We regret any inconvenience that these attacks on us cause for you. These attacks will be evaluated to determine if there are any additional protections we might take that would be prudent."

Is Sony Shooting Itself In The Foot With PS Vita?

With E3 still fresh in our minds some of us must still be wondering, what was Sony thinking with naming of the "NGP". Yes that wasn't the official name but even that name sounds better then "Vita". Oh how they have shot themselves in the foot, and this is just the name, so many other points to follow.

Firstly let me just get this out of the way, Vita really? No PSP 2, no PSP "dos" something anything....instead we get "Vita". I understand vita means life in latin but even then, who is going to know that. And saying vita doesn't really roll off the tongue now does it?  Heck, PSP Go would of been a better name for this. But instead the "Go" name went to the other PSP failure that flopped hard. Sony should have taken the time to come up with a better name, or should of just slapped a 2 at the end. Well that's strike 1 for Sony.

Strike 2, partnering up with at&t. It wouldn't have been a big deal with us unless we were able to choose other carries, but sine its ONLY at&t Sony can go suck it. At&t is one of thee worst cell phone carriers out there. They are the Microsoft of cell phone carriers. Over charging, hidden fee's, bad service and capped internet, all the things any corporate company will do to save every penny they have. All they see is profit and don't give a shit about their customers. So having to deal with them just to use the internet on the "Vita" is abysmal!

Lastly is the price, for $250 (or be it $300 if you want to get over charged up your ass by at&t by using 3G) is way to expensive. Strike 3 for Sony, your out! I would rather get the 3DS the better handheld for that price. Not only does the "Vita" not have an internal HDD which who knows how much is going to cost to get an external memory, but it also doesn't have 3D like the 3DS does. The "Vita"  may be more powerful then the 3DS, but look what happened with the DS and the PSP. The DS had the better games while PSP barley had anything, history will repeat itself  once again since the "Vita" as of now doesn't even have any good games if any at all. Its mostly going to get console ports just as the PSP did. While the 3DS will thrive with fun innovative 3D games. On a side note I didn't even talk about the size of that thing. But I can leave that for another day.

Let's recap shall we? The name, horrible. Patterning up with at&t, stupid. The price, might as well get the 3DS. You may disagree with my views but seeing how the PSP Go flopped and how the PSP and DS turned out. What makes you think this time its going to be any different?

Changing Gears

Instead of this being my personal day to day blog, I shall transform this into a hybrid. More so of a gaming blog rather then my personal life. But I will still talk about my life from time to time.

I will try my best to write daily since I have gotten more busy. I might start off with a game review for a game I'm about to play very soon. Its InFAMOUS 2 for the PS3 I played the first and loved it cant wait to get my hands on this one.

Hello to new and old fellow blogger's this is my second blog account I have made, since my first has been inactive for over 6 months I thought it would be better if I started off new.

In the coming weeks I'll update you on whats been going on in my life (for those who care), and just talk about things I enjoy. This will be a personal blog just as my previous blog I had.
